Marker / Dry-Erase Boards
Marker or 'Dry-Erase' boards are very popular with educational facilities. They eliminate the chalk dust associated with chalkboards. This is extremely important in rooms that have computers and other electronic equipment.
Porcelain-On-Steel Markerboards are the top of the line. Typical construction is a 3-layer sandwich of porcelain, furnace fused on to a 24 or 28 gauge steel sheet. This 'skin' is then bonded to a 7-16" or ½" thick backing of MFD or Duracore with a foil backer sheet. Writing surfaces are manufactured to provide reduced surface light distortion and enhanced visibility for optimum eye comfort. The usual surface color is Off White, but Light Gray, and even Black for use with fluorescent markers, is available. Because of the steel 'skin', these boards are magnetic. The Porcelain-On-Steel Markerboards produced by our manufacturers all have fifty (50) year warranties.
High-Pressure Melamine Laminate Markerboards are an economic alternative to the Porcelain-On-Steel boards. A special formulated Melamine laminate writing surface is bonded to a ¼" or 7-16" backing. Off White is the only color available. Melamine boards are not magnetic and are typically warranted for twenty (20) years.
Satin anodized aluminum frames are standard. Certain models come with map rail and/or a marker tray. Custom frames of aluminum or wood in various colors and finishes are available.
Porcelain-On-Steel boards are available with graphics fused onto the writing surface. These may include Penmanship Lines, Music Staff Lines, 1" Square Grid, Graph Coordinates, Polar Coordinates, 2" Horizontal Lines, U.S.A. Map, World Map, or custom graphics per customer specs.
