Roll Paper Towel dispensers use an internal mechanism to dispense the paper towel to a pre-determined length. They use an 8" or 9" wide roll of paper towels. Some accommodate a stub roll for extended use between maintenance intervals. Depending on the dispenser, the mechanism works as follows:
-
Touch Free: An individual simply pulls the exposed towel till it stops, and then tears it off. The dispenser then dispenses another pre-determined portion of paper towel. The actual dispenser never needs to be touched so it is considered Touch Free.
-
Lever: Pulling or pushing some type of lever dispenses the paper towel.
-
Automatic: A sensor activates a motor driven mechanism that dispenses a pre-determined length of paper towel. Also considered Touch Free.
-
Centerpull: Paper towels are dispensed from the bottom center of the dispenser by simply pulling down on the towel. Towels are perforated for easy tearing. Considered Touch Free.
