Hand Dryers

Hand Dryers are an alternative to paper towel dispensers. Consider the following when choosing between using a hand dryer or a paper towel dispenser:
Financial Hand dryers operate on pennies a day. They reduce hand-drying expense by 90-95%. The average hand dryer can pay for itself in 12-18 months.
Hygienic Hand dryers are more sanitary that paper towel or linen roller towels. They eliminate paper towel waste. Touch less dryers prevent cross contamination.
Maintenance Hand dryers eliminate ordering, stocking, and disposal of paper towels. No plumbing issues due to clogged towels.
Environmental Hand dryers save trees. Paper towels can be made from recycled paper, but they cannot be recycled. The production of paper towels is twice as energy-intensive as the usage of hand dryers. More energy is used to produce two paper towels that to run a typical high speed dryer. Many hand dryers meet the GreenSpec standard and/or qualify for LEED  credits.

When choosing between hand dryer models, compare the following:
Air Velocity A typical dryer will deliver between 4,500 to 9,500 LFM (Linear Feet per Minute) of air. The new "extreme" dryers can deliver up to 16,000 LFM reducing drying time to between 10 to 15 seconds.
Air Temperature Determined by the wattage, typically ranges between 135 to 145 degrees.
Voltage 115/120V, 208/230V, 220/240V
Mounting Surface or Recessed
Operation Push button activation or automatic sensor
Cover Many dryers use a cast iron cover but other models are available with steel, stainless steel, or even ABS plastic covers.
Color The typical cast iron model is white epoxy. Steel covers can have a painted or chrome plated finish. Stainless steel covers can have a brushed or polished finish. The ABS plastic covers are almost always white.
