Shower and Tub Accessories include commercial grade Shower Curtains, Shower Curtain Rods, Curtain Hooks, Shower Seats, and Tub Seats. We also included Cubicle Curtains and Track.
Shower Curtains
Shower Curtains are available in the following materials
· Vinyl: Typically .008mil. /0.2mm thick. Anti-bacterial and flame-retardant. Colors usually limited to white or almond.
· Flame-Resistant: A vinyl-laminate fiberglass material that is flame, static, bacteria, and mildew resistant. Colors include White, Oatmeal, and Beige.
· Nylon: Either 150 or 200-denier weight. Not flame resistant. Available in 9 colors.
· Linen Staph Chek(R): This material is rated fire resistant by every major fire-rating agency in the nation. It is self-deodorizing, anti-bacterial, self-sanitizing, tear resistant, and can be cleaned in place. Available in 6 colors.
Curtains have rust resistant grommets and are hemmed on the bottom and sides. Standard length is 72". Standard widths include 36", 42", 48", 60", 72", and 84". Curtains should be 6"-12" wider that the curtain rod. Custom sizes are available. Contact the sales staff of Hardware Discounters, Inc. to confirm availability of curtain types and colors.
Break-A-Way-Curtains are ideally suite for psychiatric, pediatric, adolescent, or correctional facilities. They incorporate a unique safety tabs that slide into a track and attach to a continuous loop tape securely to the top helm of the curtain. Normal tab spacing is every 4", but the number of tabs can be increased or decrease to change the 'break-a-way' action. Tracks come with non-removable end stops. Wide choices of fabrics are available for shower or cubicle usage.
Shower Curtain Rods
Shower Curtain Rods supplied by Hardware Discounters, Inc. are typically 1" dia. x 20 gauge or 1-1/4" dia. x 18 gauge Type 304 Stainless Steel tube with a Satin finish. Mounting flanges are similar to the types used for grab bars. Standard lengths for complete rods with flanges are 36", 42", 48", and 72". Tubing alone, which can be cut to length in the field, is available in 36", 42", 48", 60", 72", 84", and 96" lengths. Flanges would be purchase separately.
1" dia. x 28 gauge extruded Aluminum tubing with a Bright finish is available in 60" lengths. Pair this with Adjustable Twist-in flanges for an 'economy' curtain rod.
Ceiling supports are recommended for rods longer than 60". The 'Sleeve' type support has a standard length of 12" and requires two curtains. For either 1" or 1-1/4" diameter tube. The 'J' type, also 12" standard length, can be used with a single curtain with the use of the proper hook. Use with 1 " diamter tube only.
We can even supply 1" dia. x 20 gauge Curved rods with flanges that allow 6" extra room at the center of the tub or shower enclosure. Standard sizes are for 60" or 72" tubs/enclosures and are available with a Satin or Bright finish.
Curtain Hooks
The stainless steel 'Light Bulb' shape hook is the most popular curtain hook. Two styles of plastic hooks are also available in colors.
Shower and Tub Seats
Shower Seats are usually of two styles, 'L' shaped or rectangular. Seats are typically constructed with 1" dia. x 18 gauge Type 304 Stainless Steel tubing and brackets and fold up when not in use. Seat tops can be Cushioned Naugahyde, Phenolic slats, Stainless Steel, or Molded Polyethylene.
The 'L' shaped seat is also referred to as a 'Transfer Seat' and is usually used by an individual in a wheelchair. The seat is mounted in a corner with the longer side against a sidewall. That allows an individual to transfer out of the wheelchair and then side on the seat to the back wall of a shower enclosure. Overall sizes are usually 33" wide x 20" deep. These seats are handed Left and Right.
The rectangular seats provide a point of stability for individuals of limited mobility. Typical overall sizes available are 18" wide x 16" deep or 22-1/2" wide x 18" deep.
Tub seats span the width of a tub up to a maximum of 30' wide. Frame is construction of 1" dia. x 18 gauge Stainless Steel tubing and covered with ½" thick Phenolic slats. Hinged brackets allow the seat to swing up when not in use and a retaining hook holds it in place.
Cubicle Curtains and Tracks
Cubicle Curtains are available in several flame resistant materials and numerous solid colors or patterns. Curtain tops have 20" of nylon mesh, available with three different hole sizes. Standard color of the mesh is white, but it is also available in several colors to coordinate with curtain colors.
The typical Cubicle Track is extruded aluminum with either a satin anodized finish or white acrylic electrostatic paint. Carriers are nylon with steel bead chains and aluminum hooks. The track is custom fabricate to shape and size in one continuous piece, whenever possible, per application. All bends have a 12" radius.
